Dear Fair Friends,
A year has nearly passed since the 2020 INAF convention. What a year it has been! Who would have imagined the times we have seen?
There have been many changes and “outside the box” ways of doing things. Most fairs did not happen. 4-H contests were many times virtual. Some contests took place with social distancing and face masks required. Some auctions took place virtually. School education happened virtually. The list goes on. Some changes are probably here to stay.
However, there is one aspect that is still recognized. That being the people that lead and make the Fair Industry what it is. Even though the convention is being somewhat abbreviated, we are still recognizing those outstanding individuals with the Hall of Fame Award. Every fair has at least one of those deserving individuals. Wouldn’t it be great to recognize them for all they do?
The entry form and rules are found on the INAF website. Take time and have your local fairboards discuss and select one of your own.
Last year we inducted one person from each district to the Fairboard Hall of Fame. Due to lack of nominees, this doesn’t happen every year, but it should. When a person is nominated, they are considered for a second year if their application doesn’t win the first year.
